The Choiix Comforter is a simple, light, featureless alternative to more elaborate lapdesks. It is really light – it barely adds to the weight of your laptop at all – and has a small amount of padding on the underside to
make it comfortable to hold in your lap.

In fact, the only real feature the Comforter has, aside from being able to hold up your laptop, is a groove that not only acts like a stand, but a pen-and-paper holder too. Handy if you’re working on your laptop and you need to take notes – although we’re not sure why you can’t do that on your computer.

It’s unfortunate that the Comforter isn’t particularly stylish – it comes in black or white and it’s curvy, but made out of cheap plastic. Still, if you wanted to use it as a stand on your desk, you’d hardly be ashamed to have it there.

The only real concern we have about Choiix’s lapdesk is the plastic it’s made of. The problem isn’t that it’s cheap – the lapdesk is priced appropriately, after all – but that it’s quite slippery. There’s a rubber lip at the bottom of the lapdesk to stop your laptop from escaping, but any slight movement would cause my computer to slide over it and into my lap.

It doesn’t come with a bunch of features, but if you just want a very basic, comfortable lapdesk, the Comforter is a perfectly good option – as long as you don’t mind having to push your laptop back up onto it every now and then.
