If you've never played the awesome Cut the Rope, now's your chance to save a few dollars - it's 25c today on the Google Play store. This fabulous little problem-solving game has it all - fiendish levels, a cute little character and plenty of levels to keep you going.

But if Cut the Rope isn't your thing, or you already have it, then how about a few other games. Shark Dash is another physics-based puzzler. World of Goo, FIFA 12, Flick Nations Rugby and Mini Motor Racing are also on offer. For builders, there's Dungeon Village that lets you make your own hamlet to attract heroes.

If you use doubleTwist to port your music between iTunes and Android, then perhaps doubleTwist Alarm Clock might interest you. It wakes you up with a selection of your own music.

For kids, there's Color & Draw for kids HD and phone edition - choose whichever fits your Android device, whether tablet or smartphone.

And for more advanced creative uses, Sketchbook Mobile is a full-featured drawing program from Autodesk. Check compatibility - this one requires a 1GHz processor and 512 RAM to perform at its best.

The full list of today's apps is at https://play.google.com/store/apps/collection/promotion_celebrate_25_billion but get in quick, there'll be new apps tomorrow.

All the apps included in the sale get great ratings - of today's bunch, the lowest rated is FIFA 12 with 3 stars, but most have 4.5 or 5 stars.
