If you ignored my previous advice
and installed Simpsons: Tapped Out
, keep an eye out for the Treehouse of Horror
update, which adds zombies, a pet cemetary and new items for the period leading up to October 31.
The 51MB update, released today, adds a raft of halloween-themed content for October.
The idea is that with Halloween around the corner, you should build the Cemetary - for free, mind you - so that the dead bodies have someplace to go.
Of course, the Cemetary immediately starts sprouting Zombies (a passel of ten of them every 20 hours or so, to be precise), and as Lisa says, zombies need to be killed, and "the best method is squishing them with an enormous sky-finger"
That's your cue to get to work.
When you squish the zombies (it takes two or three presses and they explode into skull and blood) you score candy, eggs, toilet paper and mysterious Mayan artefacts.
The candy can be used to buy halloween-specific limited time items from the building and decorations stores, such as the Pet Cemetary shown below. A number of other items are also available only for a limited time, but are bought with the usual game currency of donuts or money: you can get jack-o-lanterns, spooky trees , mausoleums and the like.
The toilet paper and eggs are for vandalising your neighbour's houses.
The mysterious Mayan artefacts ... make a Mayan calendar, but we're not sure if that will mean the end of the Simpson's world... (apparently, the in-game plug for the US Oct 7 episode has something to do with it).
If you don't squish the zombies the moment they arise from the grave, they go roaming around town...
...and if they catch up with Springfield residents, they turn them teporarily into Zombies. We particularly liked Zombie-Flanders. Don't worry, pressing the zombie-afflicted character will relieve their symptoms.
Similarly amusing is the abbility to send the Springfield kids out Trick-or-Treating. Lisa dresses as a witch, Bart as Frankenstein, and Martin as a fairy.
