Nintendo announces Wii U NZ pricing, launch date

The Wii U will start at $470 for the 'Basic Pack', which includes a Wii U console with 8GB internal storage and a touchscreen gamepad, the company announced today.

Nintendo's Wii U will start at $470 for the 'Basic Pack', which includes a Wii U console with 8GB internal storage and a touchscreen gamepad, the company announced today.

Those who are willing to pay a little more can get The Premium Wii U pack, which comes with a 32GB black version of the Wii U console, will sell for $570.

The Premium pack also includes a gamepad, a stand and charging cradle for the gamepad, and access to the company's NintendoLand software.

"The Wii U Premium Pack also features a reward programme called Nintendo Network Premium that grants points for digital purchases in Nintendo eShop," the company said in a statement.

"This credit can be used against future purchases once you reach a minimum of 500 points."

Both versions of the Wii U will be launched in New Zealand on 30 November.
