Xbox's Bing voice search now works for Kiwis

Since December last year, your Xbox 360 has been able to understand your voice commands and be almost completely controlled by voice alone. There was one key feature missing though: Bing search. If you wanted to search for something, you had to do it the hard way.

Good news: those with Kinect peripherals for their Xbox 360s can now download an update that will allow them to use Bing's voice search function to search their game collection and the Xbox marketplace.

"We’re consistently evolving and adding to the Xbox Live entertainment experience and Bing voice search is the key to creating the intuitive feel that makes Xbox LIVE unique," said Xbox New Zealand marketing manager Steven Blackburn.

"... It’s a really exciting direction for home entertainment when you consider the possibilities unleashed by voice search."

Xbox New Zealand also said that video streaming service Quickflix will be available on the Xbox 360 by the end of this year.
