Windows 8 lands on 26 October
Steven Sinofsky announced at Microsoft's annual sales meeting that Windows 8 would be available as an upgrade or on a new PC, from 26 October, 2012.
Zara Baxter | Thursday, July 19 2012Microsoft last week announced that Windows 8 would see a Release to Manufacturing (RTM) date in the first week of August, and today Steven Sinofsky, President of the Windows and Windows Live division at Microsoft, has announced at a Microsoft annual sales conference that upgrade versions and Windows 8 on new PCs will be available on 26 October.
Windows 8 will be available in 109 languages, in 231 different countries worldwide.
Those running windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7 qualify to download an upgrade to Windows 8 Pro for $39.99.
