Western Digital releases 4TB desktop hard drive
Western Digital has released its high performance WD Black desktop drive in an unprecendented 4TB capacity.
Zara Baxter | Wednesday, November 21 2012Western Digital today announced that its WD Black high performance desktop hard drive now comes in a massive 4TB capacity.
The WD Black is a 3.5-inch, 7200 RPM SATA 6Gbps drive suited to gaming, high-performance desktop systems and workstations, thanks to their large 64MB buffer and a number of WD technologies designed to increase performance and reduce noise and vibration. They come with a five-year warranty.
Matt Rutledge, vice president of WD’s client storage group said that, “In choosing WD Black hard drives, WD desktop customers get the best possible mix of capacity, performance and reliability to handle intense desktop computing with ease.”
The WD Black 4 TB (WD4001FAEX) has a New Zealand recommended retail price of $659, and is available now.
