Telecom offers iPhone 5 on prepay
Telecom is the first New Zealand telco to offer the iPhone 5 on prepay, as of today.
Siobhan Keogh | Tuesday, October 30 2012Telecom is the first New Zealand telco to offer the iPhone 5 to prepay customers, as of today.
The iPhone 5 will be available to buy today from Telecom, with no commitment to a plan, at $1,029 for the 16GB model, $1,199 for the 32GB model, and $1,349 for 64GB.
Of course, you could also buy the iPhone outright from Apple's website at store.apple.com/nz, but if you're looking at the base 16GB model, Telecom's offer works out $20 cheaper, and there's a wait time of 3-4 weeks if you buy direct from Apple.
The iPhone 5 was released on 28 September in New Zealand, but only those willing to sign up to 12- or 24-month plans were able to buy the device from a carrier.
