The widely anticipated Steve Jobs biopic, dubbed 'jOBS', will close out this coming January's Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah.

The movie, whose tagline is "The True Story of the Man Who Changed the World", stars Ashton Kutcher (Dude, Where's My Car, That '70s Show, Two and a Half Men) as Jobs, along with other big Hollywood names such as James Woods, Dermot Mulroney and Matthew Modine. The movie "chronicles the defining 30 years of Steve Jobs' life", according to the pitch, and paparazzi have spotted filming taking place in Silicon Valley and India over the past year.

Steve Wozniak will be played by Josh Gad, whose past credits include a starring role in the Broadway musical The Book of Mormon, plus many TV and film roles, including as a correspondent on The Daily Show.

The film is being directed by relative unknown Joshua Michael Stern (Swing Vote) and the screenplay is by Matt Whiteley.

Jobs died on 5 October, 2011, at the age of 56.

Another Jobs movie, spearheaded by Aaron Sorkin of The Social Network and Moneyball fame, is also in the works, and reportedly will consist of just three scenes, focused on the launches of the Mac, NeXT and the iPod. It will be based on Walter Isaacson's best-selling biography.

Jobs was portrayed on the small screen back in 1999's Pirates of Silicon Valley by Noah Wyle. He also has had a behind-the-scenes role in the movies, including as executive producer of "Toy Story."

(If you didn't know, Jobs himself went in for a little acting, as seen in this internal Apple video in which the Apple co-founder does his best FDR impersonation.)
