New Zealand's first 'BarCraft' event is to be held in Auckland on Saturday, February 25, from 11:30am to 6:30pm. BarCraft NZ will stream live, HD coverage of the StarCraft II Major League Gaming winter event, where 32 of the world's top players will battle it out for $30,000 worth of prizes. Gamers and interested observers show up to watch, not to play.
The venue is yet to be determined, but according to the event's Facebook page, it will be a central Auckland bar. Event organiser Byron McLean said the venue would probably be finalised on 18 February.
The event is R18. McLean expects more than 70 people to attend, so while people will be able to show up on the day, he recommends RSVPing.
BarCraft first started in a sports bar in Seattle, Washington, and has since spread across the USA.
