The founder of antivirus software company McAfee is wanted in Belize for murder, according to a Gizmodo report.
John McAfee is wanted for questioning in the 10 November murder of American builder Gregory Faull, who was living on the island of Ambergris Caye. A housekeeper found Faull face-up with a bullet wound to the back of the head, Belize police said.
52-year old Faull and McAfee were allegedly at odds for some period of time before Faull's death.
Gizmodo reports that McAfee had become estranged from friends in recent years, and had become heavily involved in the Belizean drug scene, particularly MDPV. MDPV is colloqially known as 'bath salts' and has been known to cause hallucinations and violent behaviour.
McAfee had also been known to associate with Belizean gangsters.
McAfee's home in Belize had previously been raided by the Gang Supression Unit. He was suspected of manufacturing drugs and possessing an unlicensed weapon, but all charges were eventually dropped.
