Siobhan Keogh | Monday, October 29 2012If you were bracing yourself for an exciting Android launch tomorrow, stand down - Google has cancelled the New York event as Hurricane Sandy bears down on the East Coast of the USA.
“We are canceling our Monday morning event in New York due to Hurricane Sandy," Google said. "We will let you know our plans as soon as we know more.”
Tens of thousands in low-lying parts of New York City have been evacuated due to the threat of the storm.
Google was expected to show off its newest Nexus tablet, purportedly called the Nexus 10, and the Nexus 4 smartphone.
The company was also expected to unveil its next version of the Android operating system, rumoured to be Key Lime Pie.
The event has not yet been rescheduled.
