Belkin to buy Linksys brand from Cisco
Networking giant Cisco revealed plans to sell its Linksys brand router/networking business to Belkin today.

In a press release detailing the arrangement between the two companies, Belkin's CEO Chet Pipkin paised Linksys' strong brand and long history and seemed excited about the benefits that the Linksys purchase would add to Belkin's home networking lineup.
Belkin has its own range of consumer networking products, but it plans to retain the Linksys brand's identity. There's currently no timeline for the brand's transition.
All valid Linksys warranties will be supported by Belkin as part of the purchase, Belkin said.
Cisco will focus its efforts on enterprise networking and solutions.
